TISD Using Anti-Theft Software To Nab Laptop Thieves

Thieves. Be gone.  That is the message that TISD officials want to send to any five-fingered bandits interested in swiping one of the district's 1,500 laptops purchased for teachers and other school personnel this year.

Tyler ISD Trustee Gene Shull Announces Resignation

Tyler ISD Trustee Gene Shull announced Thursday night at the close of the school board meeting that he is planning to resign from his seat on the board.  Shull said the reason for his resignation is he is planning to move out of the district he represents.

High School Day May Get Longer By 30 Minutes

Tyler ISD high school students could be in for some changes in the future -- from a possible extra 30 minutes added to their school day to a possible change in how they receive credit for courses.

Kevin Eltife Recognized as the 2008 “Champion for Children”
At a luncheon on Thursday, December 11, at 11:30 a.m., Senator Kevin Eltife will be recognized as the 2008 “Champion for Children” by The Equity Center, an organization representing more than 600 school districts.  The event will take place at the Willow Brook Country Club, located at 3205 W. Erwin, Tyler.
