2004 Bond Board Update

·        A & E Consultants

 

A.     Weekly design team meetings continue for the Bell, Ramey and R/O Relief Elementary Schools.  The design teams met with the Campus Design Leadership Teams the week of March 1st to review the board approved preliminary designs. These designs were reviewed previously by the Bell and Ramey Design Leadership Teams.  The Rice/Owens Campus Design Leadership Team reviewed the revised Relief Campus design on March 8th.

 

B.     TSC and TISD’s Facility Department are continuing to meet with district director level personnel to help establish district-wide standards for the prototype designs.

 

C.     TSC and TISD’s Facility Department met with the MEP consultant to review design issues such as the R410a equipment compliance requirements, exterior lighting and plumbing fixtures.

 

D.     These weekly meetings are expected to continue through the entire design process.

 

E.      On February 24th, the board recommended the EHRC make modifications to the preliminary design that they presented.

 

F.      The Barham/Leinback design team submitted Bell and Ramey design documents to the Construction Manager for preliminary cost estimating purposes.

 

·        Construction Manager

 

A.                 Pre-Construction Services

 

a.       Conceptual Cost Estimates

                                                                                                   i.      The CM is performing preliminary cost estimates based on the preliminary design for Bell and Ramey Campuses.

 

                                                                                                 ii.      The CM will provide preliminary cost estimates for the Rice/Owens Relief Campus once the design is approved.

 

·        Technology

 

a.       A meeting was held on March 11th to discuss intrusion control and access control with TSC and TISD representatives.

 

b.      TSC is coordinating technology design documents with the MEP consultants and Architects.

 

c.       The technology consultant is working on the design documents that will be included in the final construction documents. 

 

·        Real Estate

 

a.       Ramey Elementary School

1.      The Boundary Survey and the Geotechnical Report are complete.  This data has been passed on to the civil engineer for their use.

2.      The Boundary Survey has been provided to TISD for their use with the City of Tyler in their ongoing property negotiations.

 

b.      Douglas Elementary School

1.      The Boundary Survey is complete.  The geotechnical report is in progress.  This data has been passed on to the civil engineer for their use.

2.      The Boundary Survey has been provided to TISD for their use with the City of Tyler in their ongoing property negotiations.

 

c.       Rice/Owens Relief Campus Site

1.      Boundary Survey and the Geotechnical Report are complete.  The topographic survey is complete.

2.      TISD and the Developer have completed contract negotiations for the Cumberland Gap site.
