From Ms. Franklin: 
My best friend, Natalie and her husband are missionaries in Africa (Liberia) and they are back in the US until she has her baby.   I asked them to come and share some of their experiences with the children and they loved it.
 

A is for Africa A multicultural experience.

Ms. Franklin's class was very excited to learn about the lifestyle of children in Africa.  Mr. Benjamin and Natalie Colby shared a presentation about their experiences in Liberia.

Did you say money?

Our class enjoyed playing real African drums!!!

A Visit from Dr. Reid

Tyler ISD Head Start services a total of 432 students.  The classrooms range from 17 to 20 students, but not more than 20.  Each classroom is staffed with a certified teacher and a support teacher.  During the school year, the teachers may also choose to have a John Tyler student assist in the classroom.  These students are in the Early Childhood Education program at John Tyler and participate in the classroom two to three times a week.   The classrooms are located on 12 of the 16 elementary campuses.
