Dr.
Randy Reid, Superintendent of Schools
Dr.
Randy Reid joined Tyler ISD—the largest school system in East Texas—as
Superintendent on July 1, 2007.
From 2005 until June, 2007, Dr. Reid served as
Superintendent for Celina ISD.
Previously, Dr. Reid spent more than 20 years of
his education career at Richardson ISD as a teacher and coach, followed by
assistant principal and principal. He was assistant superintendent in
Richardson ISD as well. In the spring of 2000, Dr. Reid was named to the
position of Area Superintendent. In this role, he was responsible for the
operation of one-half of the school district. This included 31 schools,
PK-12, and more than 20,000 students. Dr. Reid was also responsible for the
curriculum and instruction for all secondary schools in the District.
Dr. Reid is active in professional associations,
including the Texas Association of School Administrators; the Association
for Supervision and Curriculum Development; the Texas Association of School
Boards; the National Association of Secondary Principals; and serves on
local professional associations and boards.
Dr. Reid believes that all students are highly
capable and that parents, community members and businesses share with the
schools the
responsibility to ensure children achieve excellence in their educational
experience.
Born in Dallas, Dr. Reid holds a Bachelor’s degree
from Baylor University; a Master’s and a Doctorate in Education
Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
