CROWD CONTROL PLAN
AT ROSE STADIUM
- The Athletic
Director will conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the stadium security
to discuss problems and solutions. (The first of these meetings was held
Thursday, September 4th, with Bobby Garmon and Jimmy Mount). This meeting
will be the responsibility of the AD.
- An
understanding of expectations regarding canned drinks in
the stadium must be adhered to by all support groups. Arrangements can be
made to allow such groups to go outside the fences (Gate 7) if this is
necessary or behind the field house. This is a practice that has been
followed on the visitor’s side for many years. We can reserve an area outside
Gate 2 (Home Team support groups) that can be designated for the purpose of
serving canned drinks.
- Most problems
are generally started by non-students. We can reduce the likelihood that this
will occur if we have a designated area for REL/JT students only. We will
secure the SW stands for students from REL/JT if they can be identified by
student ID cards.
- Starting with
the band and drill team (Section L) only, those with reserved seat tickets or
student ID’s will be allowed south of this section. We will control this area
with security at the top of Sections H, I, J, K and L. The lower area will be
controlled with a gate between Section L and M. Those with general admission
tickets will be seated in Sections M and N. Security or school personnel will
be placed at each entrance. The walkway at the bottom of each section should
be kept clear except during half-time. Should we have more general admission
or student tickets than room allows, they will be forced to the east side.
- Rose Stadium
security will have a plan to deal with those who stand around behind the
stands and block exit lanes. Students can expect disciplinary action if they
refuse to cooperate or be escorted out of the stadium.
- We are asking
the TISD Police Department to formulate a plan for the use of metal detectors
if the need should arise.
- The Athletic
Office will monitor ticket sales each week. The number of seats available
will determine the number of tickets to be sold. Usually tickets are
available on the visitor’s side for overflow.
- Fans will not
be allowed to form groups in passageways.
- Fans should not
congregate at any entrance, exit or walkway.
- Any kind of
altercation could result in being escorted to Jail.
- Mechanical
devices or air horns are not allowed.
