Inform teachers and staff of new materials that the campus library
and district IRC have acquired for instructional use. |

Organize the campus library for effective use by students and staff.

Evaluate, select, coordinate and circulate all library material and
equipment. |

Assess library program needs based on state accreditation standards
and district and campus goals; confer regularly with campus
administration to revise and revise program. |

Promote positive interactions with colleagues and the community.

Confer with and make recommendations to teachers and staff on the
use of the library and/or library materials for class use.

Provide leadership and direction for improvement in the library;
evaluates and analyzes the program to determine

Keep current on new library trends, technology, etc. through
attending professional workshops and
conferences. |

Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State
Board of Education rule, and the local Board of Trustees in pursuing
the mission of the school district. |

Keeps informed about new state and federal guidelines and policies.

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required
documents |

Keeps records such as budget expenditures, shelf lists, circulation
records and library book and audio-visual inventories. |

Requisition and order equipment, material, supplies for the campus
library; process all new library materials. |

Receive, distribute, and return all audio-visual materials to the
IRC; record, circulate, and maintain campus video libraries offered
by the instructional television. |

15. |
Assess the physical facility needs of the library based on current
inventory, facility conditions, and additional equipment needed.

16. |
Coordinate the district library program; meet with campus librarians
to insure consistency in meeting state and federal school library
standards. |

17. |
Provide guidance and assistance in selection, acquisition, and
processing of library materials in the district. |
|
18. |
Serve as the "point" person on requests from parents or community to
ban books and provide information on this action under open records
requests. |
|
19. |
Serve as the lead librarian to provide support and follow-up
training in the implementation of Destiny, an electronic system that
will assist the district in facilitating interlibrary access to
materials. |
|
20. |
Assist with technology needs in campus libraries. |
|
21. |
Plan and organize continuing education and staff development for
librarians. |
|
22. |
Receive and manage the ongoing exhibit of new books for all
librarians in the district. |
|
23. |
Complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner; keep records
organized, up-to-date and
accurate. |
|
24. |
Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional
development activities and curriculum meetings; follows appropriate
lines of authority. |

25. |
Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner
as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators. |

26. |
Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to
improve performance. |
|
27. |
Provide campus inservice demonstrations in use, accessibility, and
care of audio-visual equipment; teaches library skills and
instruction in the use of the library as set forth in the TISD
library curriculum. |

Participates in school and community activities; works cooperatively
with others. |

29. |
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.

Communicates in a clear, effective, and informative manner.
