902INT - DISCIPLINE COACH (INTERN)
REPORTS TO: Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree preferred
At least three years successful experience as a classroom teacher and shall have demonstrated his/her ability as an instructional leader.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate.
ASSISTS IN SUPERVISING:
Discipline Secretary, clerical personnel, hall and parking lot manual trades
personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher Pay Scale + stipend 187 days; Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Process and assign appropriate discipline as outlined in TISD Student Code of Conduct. |

2. |
Immediately alert Principal of all fights, dangerous situations, and/or possible major or controversial parent issues prior to investigation/conference. |
|
3. |
Communicate to Principal all Central Office directives before final action. |
|
4. |
Effectively communicate the discipline process with both teachers and parents. |
|
5. |
Maintain and submit weekly discipline log to Principal. |
|
6. |
Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods and before and after school. |
|
7. |
Supervise and develop schedules and duty stations for campus monitors. |
|
8. |
Monitor parking lot traffic patterns for efficiency and ensure gates open/close at appropriate times. |
|
9. |
Coordinate with parking lot monitors for proper upkeep of all radios and golf carts. |
|
10. |
Maintain data as related to tardy policies. |
|
11. |
Assist in supervision of tardy room personnel. |
|
12. |
Assist in developing duty rosters for teachers. |
|
13. |
Assist with developing, maintaining and implementing the campus crisis management plan. |
|
14. |
Assist with developing and implementing requirements for ID badges. |
|
15. |
Assist with supervision and coordination of ISS and ensure direct daily communication with teachers. |
|
16. |
Work directly with TISD Chief of Police to coordinate and schedule random use of the drug dog and metal detector searches. |
|
17. |
Collaborate with 9th grade class sponsor for coordination of all 9th grade class events. |
|
18. |
Develop and maintain a master procedures notebook. |
|
19. |
Maintain all discipline and referral records in a timely manner in accordance with TISD deadlines. |

20. |
Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities. |
|
21. |
Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators. |

22. |
Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance. |
|
23. |
Projects a positive image to the community. |
|
24. |
Annually establishes and meets performance goals. |
|
25. |
Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned. |

Computer, copier, fax and related office equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and
written); maintain emotional control under stress; coordinate campus support
functions.
Physical Demands: Moderate standing, stooping, bending and lifting;
ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and
exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. May be
subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions. Work with frequent
interruptions. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional
districtwide travel.
