658S – ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF SCHEDULING, HIGH SCHOOL
REPORTS TO:
Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
Principal certification or Master’s Degree
At least five years successful experience in a public school district, with at least three years at a campus.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 5, 226 days. Wage/Hour Status: Exempt.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Uses administration and analytical skills to direct all scheduling procedures. |
| 2. |
Encourages staff input in the decision making in the areas of student scheduling and developing the master schedule. |
| 3. |
Supervises the offices of the registrar. |
| 4. |
Cooperates with the principal, assistant principals, counselors, and other personnel who work scheduling and academic achievement records. |
| 5. |
Coordinates the development of the master schedule, as directed by the principal, by coordinating with department heads. |
| 6. |
Keep accurate class load and attendance records; make such information available to counselors and administrators. |
| 7. |
Verify teacher certifications and highly qualified status during the creation of the master schedule. |
| 8. |
Monitor certifications and highly qualified status as related to teacher assignment changes. |

9. |
Works with other campus personnel to create annual student course guide. |
|
10. |
Destroy old grade books after six years. |
|
11. |
Mail report cards to parents of student who did not receive report cards. |
|
12. |
Maintain all complete grade forms, grade correction sheets, grade change correction forms, by teacher, to be filed in permanent files. |
|
13. |
Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned. |

Annually establishes and meets performance goals. |
|
15. |
Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. |
|
16. |
Compile, maintain, file, and present all reports, records, and other documents. |
|
17. |
Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities. |
|
18. |
Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators. |
|
19. |
Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance. |

control under stress; coordinate campus-wide functions.

Occasional district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours;
