915 - IRC Clerical/Technical Assistant


REPORTS TO: Facilitator of Media Services and IRC

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED           
  2. Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for work to be performed
  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency         
  4. Have clerical/secretarial experience or background
  5. Have experience related to working with teachers and district staff

 

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. To promptly and efficiently process all new Pay for Knowledge workshops/training.

  2. To process and maintain all participant registration forms and return confirmations as soon as available.

  3. To provide workshops with sign-in sheets, evaluation forms, supplies, and refreshments.

  4. To efficiently maintain payroll records for Pay for Knowledge payments.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 3; Estimated 226  day; estimated  8 hours daily; Wage/hour status:  Nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

 

Administrative Tasks:

1.

Maintain sign-in for IRC users

2.

Assist with IRC services to teachers

3.

Supervise die-cut room keeping equipment organized  and room clean

4.

Make and display new die samples for users

5.

Create new instructional ideas for display using dies, materials and supplies in IRC

6.

Keep  displays of instructional/classroom ideas for teachers in IRC current  with seasons and with timeliness  of  subject matter

7.

Assist with inventory of supplies to maintain adequate inventory for teacher usage

 

IRC Support:

8.

Facilitate laminating services for IRC, replacing film as needed

9.

Perform general maintenance on banner makers, printers and poster printer such as replacing  ink cartridges and keeping paper loaded

10.

Call for repair for equipment such as laminator, banner makers, and poster printer

11.

Keep die machine pads replaced when worn

12.

Assist teachers when needed in copying, enlarging and reducing materials

13.

Make colored  posters for teachers

14.

Assist teachers with Poster Printer, Banner Maker, Button Maker, Spiral Binder

15.

Assist aides, volunteers, and student teachers with activity books and die-cuts

16.

Assist teachers with printing from laptop computer connected to IRC printers

 

Clerical Tasks:

17.

Maintain  Budget  Allotment Accounts for teachers and other IRC users

18.

Monitor IRC users completion of allotment forms

19.

Provide reports for Teacher Allotment expenditures

20.

Notify teachers and all other users of IRC of amounts due when going over IRC Allotments

21.

Handle collection  of funds that are collected from overspending on teacher allotments

 

Personal Tasks: 

22.

Answers department telephones

23.

Exhibits  communication skills, both orally and written,  that are effective and grammatically accurate

24.

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationship with colleagues and others using  the IRC facility

Mental Demands:
  Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors:  Moderate standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting; work with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
