Job Description


QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. High school diploma or GED; office experience preferred               

  2. Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for work to be performed

  3. Ability to grow professionally

  4. Keyboarding and computer proficiency preferred

  5. Organizational skills

  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

REPORTS TO:                   Director of TARGET Grant

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. Assist the TARGET Project Director in the implementation of the TARGET Grant

  2. Facilitate office procedures for the TARGET Project Director


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 2 Estimated 226 days;   estimated  8 hours daily


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

1.         

Communicates with the District and campus administrators and teachers regarding training, planning and other pertinent information.

2.         

Assists with maintaining calendar, scheduling appointments and meeting rooms.

3.         

Types routine correspondence and reports.

4.         

Routes all incoming correspondence. Types, duplicates, and routes all outgoing correspondence.

5.         

Picks up and delivers materials as required.

6.         

Opens, sorts and screens mail.

7.         

Answers telephone, screen callers, relays messages and greets visitors.

8.         

Files in alphanumeric order and locates materials from files.

9.         

Prepares and maintains record of budget expenditures.

10.      

Processes purchase orders and receiving reports for purchases.

11.      

Processes Management Information System (MIS) requests for the TARGET project.

12.      

Requisitions and distributes materials and supplies.

13.      

Maintains an office supply request form.

14.      

Collects and processes travel forms.

15.      

Assists in preparing district and state reports.

16.      

Enters and maintains records for TARGET project.

17.      

Assists with the duplication of instructional materials.

18.      

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor.

19.      

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others while conducting district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.

20.      

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

21.      

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

22.      

Provides complete and accurate information while conducting district business.

23.      

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related tot he position and as assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED:

                Uses a variety of: copiers, calculators, Wintel computers, Macintosh computers, Apple computers, typwriters, laser printers, ink jet printers, flat bed scanner, optical scanner, digital camera, and other technologies as they become available. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) ; ability to work with budgeting and purchase orders, ability to operate a computer, email, Internet and other technologies listed; ability to work positively with others; knowledge of word processor, database, spreadsheet applications and desktop publishing.. 

Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer terminal; occasional district-wide travel; close work with a variety of electronic equipment.
