757C - RECEPTIONIST/ CLERK


REPORTS TO:  Director of Human Resources 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Two years experience as Educ. Secy I; or 15 hours college credit with some business orientation; or equivalent business school background; or three years of general clerical/secretarial experience.
  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency.
  4. Computational, organizational, and communication skills, preferred.
  5. Ability to work with constant interruptions and with various district employees.                           

JOB GOALS:     

  1. To professionally greet visitors.
  2. To reproduce instructional materials.
  3. To maintain a positive image for the department.
  4. To ensure the efficient operation of the HR Department and provide clerical services to the program.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will);Paygrade 3  Estimated 226 days; estimated 8 hours daily Wage/hour status:  nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1.  

Accept, transfer, and direct all incoming phone calls in the HR Department.

Accept some calls transferred from direct numbers.

Greet the public in a positive, professional manner.

Maintain a professional atmosphere within the HR Department.

Direct visitors to the proper destination

Prepare correspondences

7. 

Receive, sort and distribute mail and other documents to department staff.

8. 

Operate copy machines, adding machines, network printers, and laminator and badge maker.

9. 

Assist in making reservations and refreshment arrangements for meetings.

10. 

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in  conducting of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

11. 

Is prompt and timely in completing daily tasks.

12. 

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

13. 

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

14. 

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

15. 

Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.

16. 

Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

17. 

Participates in meetings and special events as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 
Mental Demands: 
Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
