MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
| 1. |
Administer oral language proficiency test to all students on non-bilingual campuses who have a home language survey other than English . |
| 2. |
Prepare bilingual documentation folders for all students on non-bilingual campuses who have a home language survey other than English. |
| 3. |
Represent the bilingual department at Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) meetings. |
| 4. |
Assist the special education department by serving as translator at the Admission, Referral, and dismissal (ARD) meetings where parents do not speak English. |
| 5. |
Assist non-bilingual campuses with enrollments of students whose parents do not speak English. |
| 6. |
Assist the transportation department when problems arise on one of the bilingual buses. |
| 7. |
Translate for Central Administration personnel as needed for lunch applications, minority transfers, business matters, Central Review Committees, ARDS, and other areas as needed. |
| 8. |
Assist non-bilingual schools by translating their forms into Spanish. |
| 9. |
Assist Head Start with test training. |
| 10. |
Assist all departments by translating material into Spanish. |
| 11. |
Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and assigned. |

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities. |
| 13. |
Is prompt and timely in completing assignments and attending to details, accurately and efficiently. |
| 14. |
Is regular in attendance and complies with notification procedures for absences. |
| 15. |
Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business. |
| 16. |
Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business. |
| 17. |
Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. |
| 18. |
Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures. |
| 19. |
Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance. |
| 20. |
Participates in faculty meetings and special events as assigned. |
| 21. |
If applicable, input, verify, or update PEIMS information as assigned by supervisor. |
| 22. |
Schedule all meeting for LPAC for the year. |
EQUIPMENT USED: Uses computer, typewriter, printer, copier, FAX, calculator, and telephone.
