920 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF MAINTENANCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB GOALS:
To inspect for the purpose of preventive maintenance all structural building
components, with emphasis on exterior landscape, parking lots, sidewalks and all
types of playground equipment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 6; Estimated 232 days; estimated 8 hours daily Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Plans and schedules daily assigned work orders (prepare materials needed and equipment required). Maintain work orders in proper priorities. |

Survey large or questionable job with PM inspector technician or foreman. |
|
3. |
Inspect all play structures for safe and proper operation. Keep surfacing material at proper depth and clean. |
|

Maintain vehicle in an operational condition by checking oil, transmission, water, battery, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and tire pressure and fill out the Daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist form, making special notation of a problem and turn in checklist immediately to the Coordinator. Maintain the truck organized and reasonable clean. |

Perform scheduled inspections of building exteriors as well as grounds, landscape and parking lots. Provide work order information to dispatcher. |

Observes and practices all safety rules and requirements pertaining to hazardous chemicals, asbestos containing materials (ACM), and environmental hazards. |

Performs according to job requirements concerning climbing ladders, scaffolds and platforms in order to do work, including roof tops of multistory buildings. |
|
8. |
Maintain adequate play structure parts inventory so repairs can be made as needed. |

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned. |

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities. |

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently. |

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences. |

13. |
Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business. |

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. |
EQUIPMENT USED:
Equipment used performing tasks in cleaning and repair of sidewalks,
concrete walls and masonry walls, and other repairs of buildings, locks,
glass, and sewer system.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to read, perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate
effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual
tasks and body movement including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping,
bending, walking, standing and carrying. Ability to lift 50 pounds weight.
Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; dust; toxic
chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on
ladders, scaffolds, platforms, in ditches/excavations, on top of and
underneath single story and multi-story buildings, work alone and with other
personnel.
