895 AUDITORIUM AND GYNMASIUM SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED;
Must possess working knowledge of electrical principles
Ability to effectively operate and maintain lighting, sound amplification systems and electronically controlled stage gear
Must possess a valid Texas Operator’s License and insurable
Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with the public, coaches and theatrical producers.
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
JOB GOALS:
Under direction, to schedule and supervise usage of the Caldwell Auditorium and Gymnasium, to coordinate the work of any assigned employees and participate with them to maintain both facilities, prepare buildings for scheduled events, perform stagehand services as necessary, and perform related duties as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 6; Estimated 232 days; estimated 8 hours daily Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1.
Communicate effectively with potential lessors regarding calendar, fees, set-up needs and agreement specifications.
2.
Schedule rehearsals and performances in auditorium.
3.
Schedule practices and games in gym.
4.
Distribute and collect contracts and related fees to building usage.
5.
Supervise cleaning and preparation of Caldwell Auditorium and Gymnasium for scheduled events.
6.
Make, or supervise others in making, repairs to lighting, sound and electrical, or other equipment as necessary to assure proper condition prior to usage.
7.
Perform stagehand services, or supervise others, for show, meetings, and theatrical productions, including preparation and placing of stage props and scenery; operation of lighting and sound amplification system; and operation of electrically controlled stage gear in accordance with plans provided by the program director or theatrical producer.
8.
Supervise and monitor for a safe and orderly environment during games, rehearsals, meetings and/or performances.
9.
Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor; performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.
10.
Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
11.
Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.
12.
Is regular in attendance and complies with notification procedures for absences.
13.
Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.
14.
Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
15.
Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
16.
Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.
EQUIPMENT USED: Lighting and sound amplification system; electrically controlled stage gear; use of dollies and ladders.

Mental Demands: Reading; ability to understand verbal instructions.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement including strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 pound. Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders, work alone. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
