882B - TECHNOLOGY MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Technology Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB GOALS:
Provide district-wide support in the area of technology maintenance.
Facilitate the efficient operation of the technology service center.
Repair electronic equipment on a component level
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-contractual (At-will); MT Pay Grade 6 Estimated 226 days; estimated 8 hours daily. Wage hour status: nonexempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1.
Process warranty parts for various vendors. Complete labor reimbursements online. Ensure defective parts are returned to vendors. Maintain returned parts tracking numbers.
2.
Ensure that parts and inventory are assigned to the correct technicians or campus.
3.
Operate industrial forklift to unload delivery truck and maintain stock on warehouse shelves.
4.
Diagnose and repair printers, A/V equipment, projectors, scanners and other electronic equipment.
5.
Install and upgrade computers and peripherals at the Technology Service Center.
6.
Repair circuit boards and electronic equipment on a component level. Replace transistors, capacitors and resistors using soldering equipment and electronic test equipment.
7.
Answer main TSC phone number and direct calls as needed.
8.
Enters service tickets and notes for technology equipment. Closes service tickets and ensures that parts are assigned correctly.
9.
Pickup/deliver parts and supplies as needed to and from local vendors for repairs.
10.
Assists in the delivery of technology equipment to campuses.
11.
Obtain quotes, request P.O.’s, order stock parts, keep track of stocked inventory, charge out parts on service tickets and ensure that parts are shipped back to appropriate vendor.
12.
Maintain inventory levels and keep parts room and warehouse neat and organized.
13.
Prepare time and sick leave reports. Verify and enter time for TSC employees.
14.
Maintain mileage and direct pay reimbursement paperwork for TSC.
15.
Ensures proper and timely delivery of accounting, payroll, and mileage paperwork to admin building
16.
Maintain Technology Service Center filling system in a neat and organized manner.
17.
Assists Fixed Asset department when necessary.
18.
Complies with all directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position assigned.
19.
Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
20.
Is prompt and timely in completely daily tasks.
21.
Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
22.
Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.
23.
Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Equipment Used: Computer, copier, printer, fax, soldering equipment, digital meter, forklift, drill, power tools, and other electronic repair devices.

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to operate a computer, ability to maintain control under stressful situations, ability to troubleshoot and repair computers and electronic equipment effectively, ability to maintain an organized filing system
Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: Repetitive hand motions, prolonged use of computers, some heavy lifting up to 75lbs
