840 - FOOD SERVICE WAREHOUSE DRIVER/MAINTENANCE HELPER


REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Food Services and Director of Food Services

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a High School diploma or GED.
2. Experience in receiving, checking, pulling orders, stocking and shipping.
3. Experience in operating a forklift, loading and unloading trucks
4. Experience in warehousing and making “as needed” deliveries
5. Must hold a current Texas Commercial Class B Driving License and be insurable by TISD.
6. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. (repetitively)
7. Must be able to perform/assist in some degree with various manual trades such as plumbing, ventilating, carpentry, and the connect or disconnect of large kitchen equipment.

JOB GOALS:

1. Receiving all warehouse merchandise.
2. Deliver all warehouse merchandise.
3. Stocking for easy identification and order pulling.
4. Inventories of warehouse stock.
5. Make sure deliveries are prompt and product quality is maintained.
6. To assist in maintaining the Food Service District facilities in a safe, operational condition.
 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 2; Estimated 226 days; estimated 8 hours daily


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

1.    

Responsible for checking in deliveries, making sure to verify delivery ticket for accuracy.

2.    

Responsible that products are received in undamaged condition.

3.    

Responsible for FIFO stocking and inventory control.

4.    

Pulls and checks all outgoing orders.

5.    

Responsible for maintaining the warehouse, freezer, and cooler in an organized manner.

6.    

Loading trucks in an orderly and timely fashion.

7.    

Available for pulling stock requested and loading vehicles for warehouse pick-ups.

    8.     

Inventories of warehouse merchandise on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis.

        9.

Handles and stores all food/non-food products as regulated by Director of Food Service/Supervisor

         10.

Deliveries on an “as needed” basis.

         11.

Is available to assist in moving large equipment and assisting with any moves in the connect/disconnect of kitchen equipment.

         12.

Cleans vents in kitchen on an as needed basis including the vent a hood grates and return air vents.

         13.

Cleans kitchen floors (using a special scrubber) according to department protocol on a scheduled basis.

         14.

Performs maintenance tasks; changing light bulbs in and around kitchen facilities, assist with any connect/disconnect of equipment and moving equipment, escorting the contracted maintenance personnel to all district kitchens, putting kitchen supplies together and delivering those supplies.

        15.

Complies with directions and instruction from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

  16.

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

  17.

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details
accurately and efficiently.

   18.

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

   19.

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

   20.

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

         21.

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

   22.

Maintains district vehicles in operational conditions by checking all fluids, tires, and brakes on a weekly basis and reports any problem to the supervisor.

   23.

Maintains district vehicles in a clean and organized manner.

Physical Demand/Environmental Factors: Strenuous walking, standing, moderate lifting and carrying; stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; work around moving objects or vehicles; exposure to dampness and humidity; exposure to slippery or uneven surfaces. Works with frequent interruptions. Overtime work possible.
