 Tyler ISD 2005 Teacher of the Year Banquet  

 

The Tyler ISD 2005 Teacher of the Year Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 12, at the Harvey Hall Convention Center.  The event will honor Campus Teachers of the Year, District Teachers of the Year, and business Partners in Education.  Those in attendance will include Tyler ISD staff, administrators, teachers, sponsors, and members of the community.  Tickets are required to attend the event ($14 per ticket) and can be purchased from the Tyler ISD Department of Communications by calling 903-262-1065.

Twenty-seven teachers were named Campus Teachers of the Year.  Selection committees interviewed the candidates March 30 to determine the Tyler ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year and Elementary Teacher of the Year.  The two District Teachers of the Year will be announced the evening of the banquet.  Committee members included:

Criteria for selection of both the campus Teachers of the Year and district Teachers of the Year included, among other items:  playing an active and useful role in their community, commitment to the teaching profession through continuous improvement, and lessons that creatively engage and inspire students to achieve high academic standards.
