News Release TISD Elementary Students’ Acts of Kindness Rewarded
Presentation of Computers to Students
Ramey Elementary School fifth graders will be rewarded for their selfless efforts shown to others in their community. The 24 students will each receive a free computer, to take home, through the Mustard Seed Ministries program. The students have been involved in various community service projects from collecting food items, to monetary donations, to helping pass out food in their neighborhood and at local businesses over the last few months. In addition, to the community service projects, the students wrote an essay about why they wanted a computer.
Mustard Seed Ministries began in 2002 in Tyler, Texas. The "Computers for Kids" Merit Program enables children to have a free computer - with the hope that they can begin to dream about a successful future - filled with high school graduation, college and a professional career of their choice. The ministry is a 501.c.3. charitable organization.
