Officials from Tyler ISD and the Texas Department of State Health Services will hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at the Plyler Instructional Complex.  Administrators will release information about a very serious activity called the “Choking Game,” that children are participating in.  The purpose of the press conference is to promote parent awareness and knowledge of the “Choking Game.”

Tyler ISD Executive Director of Student Services, Jeff Collum,  Tyler ISD Coordinator of Health Services, Nancy Jones, and Public Health Regional Director, Dr. Paul McGaha, will speak individually about the District plan related to this activity, the signs and symptoms to look for, and the health issues related to this practice.
