News Release TISD Students Attend Rodeo of a Different Sort
Students at Bell Elementary School recently experienced a unique type of rodeo -- a bicycle rodeo. Through the collaboration of the Bell PTA, City of Tyler Police Department Bicycle Unit, Tyler Cycling Club, and Elite Bicycle Shop, students learned bicycle safety, had their bicycles checked, learned about traffic signs, and participated in an obstacle course. The Tyler Cycling Club, through the support of Trinity Mother Frances and the Tyler Police Department provided new cycling, helmets for every student that attended the rodeo. Cycling Club members helped the students fit in their helmets properly. Elite Bicycle Shop performed the bicycle safety checks to make sure the bikes were in good working condition, and the Tyler Police Department conducted the obstacle course and road safety lessons. Also, Adventure Sports donated water bottles for all that attended. The Bicycle Rodeo was a free service through the Tyler Police Department Bicycle Unit and is available to any student groups or schools. ### |
