TISD Earns 40 Gold Performance Acknowledgements

The Tyler Independent School District has been awarded 40 Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA) from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  The final 2009 state accountability ratings and gold performance acknowledgements were recently released by TEA and 15 campuses in the Tyler ISD received one or more acknowledgements.  The District’s accountability ratings remained the same as previously listed this summer.

The GPA system recognizes campuses and districts for high academic performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings, such as commended performance on Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) and significant improvement in reading and mathematics.
