Jenkins Named Vice President for Public Relations Organization

Tyler Independent School District is pleased to announce that Angela Jenkins, Director of Communications and Public Relations, has been elected as the Vice President of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) for the East Texas Region.  Jenkins has been with the District for more than four years.

“I am honored to be able to serve in this state-wide capacity and represent Tyler ISD at the state level,” said Jenkins.  “I hope to continue the participatory involvement created by our previous Vice President, Brian Bowman of Longview ISD.”

“This well deserved honor for Angela is also an excellent opportunity for Tyler ISD, as she will have a strong voice in the leadership of this influential organization,” said Randy Reid, superintendent of schools.  “We are very proud of Ms. Jenkins.”

Jenkins will serve education service center regions 6, 7, and 8, with school districts from Texarkana to Paris, south to College Station and close to the Houston area.

Jenkins will be a voting member of the executive committee of TSPRA.   The executive committee represents over 800 professionals in public relations, community volunteers, media relations, electronic media and education foundations.

TSPRA is a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to promoting public schools through effective communications. TSPRA provides professional development, resources and networking opportunities for members and others in the education community.
