St. Louis School Graduation Twofold for Students

The end of the 2010 school year is twofold for students at the St. Louis campus. Seven students are about to embark on the next phase of their lives while making history as the last graduating class at the Walton Road location. The St. Louis School will host their graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Louis School, located at 2800 Walton Road, in Tyler. The students graduating are: Justin Butler, Josh Herman, Melissa Hunter, Andrew Meazell, Chris Parnell, Monze Ramirez and Sarah Thompson.

“The 2010 graduating students will be the last class to graduate at the St. Louis campus,” said Karyn Hacker, Principal of St. Louis School. “Our graduation ceremonies are an exciting time for the students and the staff. During our time we have learned from them, faced challenges and laughed with them. Most of all they have entered our hearts and we wish them and their families the best in this new chapter of life that they are entering into.”

Justin Butler has been at St. Louis for 11 years. His favorite school activities are playing percussion, musical toys and keyboard, and working. Justin loves to ride in a bus or car, listen to music, go out to eat—at any restaurant, and go through the drive-thru. Justin loves to dance to a beat he likes. Justin loves to laugh and have fun with friends.

Josh Herman has been at St. Louis for 12 years. Josh’s favorite school activities are the hug machine, sensory time, music, going outside, riding a trike, swinging, dancing and hugging. Josh enjoys swimming, jet skiing, and riding in the car or bus. When he was young, his family took him for rides on the jet ski, he would always fall off so he could swim. His dad put him on the front of the jet ski and he loved it. Now, as long as he is steering, he’ll stay on the jet ski all day.

Melissa Hunter has been at St. Louis for the past year. Melissa’s favorite school activities are music, dancing, walking, and doing work jobs outside the classroom. She enjoys going for car rides, watching Wheel of Fortune, buying cokes at Walmart, giving hugs and kisses, and having her fingernails and toenails painted. Melissa is a sweetheart who loves to hug and kiss regardless of the mood she is.

Andrew Meazell has been at St. Louis School since the age of six. Andrew’s favorite activity is laying and resting in a nice cool place and eating cheesecake. He likes music and movies with lots of music. When he was able to go to church, he would usually be quiet during the music and start fussing when the preacher started his sermon. He’s also like Goldilocks—he wants his food just right—not too hot, not too cold.

Chris Parcell has been at St. Louis for nine years. His favorite school activities are horseback riding, A.P.E., music, group time and earning his Dr. Pepper.  Chris loves riding his bike and playing basketball with his brother, Corey. He likes playing the guitar, singing in the microphone, and watching certain movies. Chris loves going to Camp Tyler and riding in the hayride—but he especially likes sitting on the tractor.  Chris can get very focused on one thing he is doing.

Rita “Monze” Ramirez has been at St. Louis School since the age of three. Monze’s favorite school activities are rocking babies, taking sacks of shredded paper to the bus, calming upset students by holding their hand, recycling (taking plastic bottles, aluminum cans and paper to the office) and delivering messages—anything to get out in the hallway and be around people. She enjoys going to church, playing with children, watching TV (especially food and animal programs), playing in the dirt, and getting her feet wet.

Sarah Thompson has been at St. Louis School for two years. Sarah loves to go on vacation. She has cruised the Bahamas, visited Washington D.C., beach combed in Maine and viewed the Monterey Fish Aquarium in California. She is happiest when the whole family is together at dinner.
