News Release TISD Staff and Students Join to Help Earthquake Victims As most of the country is seeing the devastation and despair of the families of Haiti, it is no surprise that our own Tyler ISD family has risen to the occasion. The staff and students around the district have taken on fund-raising efforts for the past several weeks in the form of giving their pizza money, wearing blue jeans for a day, or selling food items to collect what they can to help with the disaster relief. The campuses have donated more than $8,000 to the American Red Cross to give support to the people of Haiti. We admire the following schools for their kindness and willingness to help others. Bell, Birdwell, Caldwell, Griffin, Jack, Peete, Ramey, Rice, and Woods elementary schools and Dogan and Hubbard middle schools all participated in some manner to raise the funds to help with relief efforts.
