John Tyler Students Cook With Chef Tim

Chef Tim from Brookshire’s Grocery Company, in Tyler, “spiced up” things in a nutrition class at John Tyler High School.  Chef Tim shared his recipes for success, not only in the kitchen, but also when selecting a career. He explained the main ingredient for achieving success is to find something that you love doing.  He went on to say that after finding your passion, plan to work hard, really hard, until your dream becomes a reality.

Chef Tim’s passion for the culinary arts was obvious as he demonstrated ways to beautifully garnish food, turning vegetables and fruits into flowers, serving containers, and other adornments.

According to Carol Boyle, food and nutrition teacher at John Tyler High School, “Chef Tim actively engaged the students, and had them eagerly jumping to prepare and cook a nutritious meal, consisting of pork tenderloin with a pistachio butter sauce, and a medley of seasoned, fresh vegetables.”

All the students gave Chef Tim a five star rating for his outstanding enthusiasm, cooking talents, and advice that connected this fun classroom experience to something useful now and later as they graduate and venture into the real world.
