News Release TISD Schools and Foundation Benefit from Annual Sale
The Tyler Independent School Foundation recently completed its annual
Discount Card sale at all 17 Tyler ISD elementary schools. The sale was
a huge success, generating more than $30,000 profit to the Tyler ISD
Foundation and respective schools.
"This is the first year that we have used Greater American Opportunities
for our discount card program,” said Larry Goddard, Executive Director
of the Tyler ISD Foundation. “The students and their families sold more
than 6,100 cards making this the best year for the discount sales
program. The elementary schools increased their sales by more than 10%
this year," said Goddard.
Great American Opportunities, who conducted the sale for the TISD
Foundation, noted that the sale went smoothly and the discount card was
very well received on all campuses. Proceeds of the sales of the cards are split with the campuses so they can determine the needs at each campus. The other half of the money goes towards the functions of the Tyler ISD Foundation, which include campus grants.
"However you look at this program, the children of Tyler ISD and their
teachers who write grants benefit," said Goddard. The card features unlimited use for one year, offers fantastic savings and two for one discounts at local merchants such as Whataburger, Dairy Queen, SportsClips, and Lucky's/VIP Cleaners, plus many more!
Limited supplies of these cards are still available, and are currently on sale for $10.00 while the supply lasts, at the following Tyler ISD elementary schools: Owens, Clarkston, Jack, & Ramey.
