TISD Student Makes Texas All State Band for Second Year

Robert E. Lee High School senior makes the Texas All State Band.  This is the second year in a row that Cameron Staton will represent Robert E. Lee High School at the annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention.  Staton will have the opportunity to work with musicians from all over the state, as well as be conducted by directors from around the country. The Texas Music Educators Association Convention will be held in February in San Antonio, Texas.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for any student to be able to perform in the Texas All State Band,” said George Faber, Director of Visual and Performing Arts for Tyler ISD.  “We are very proud for Cameron.”

More than 25,000 students across the state of Texas auditioned for a spot in the All State Band.  Students who place top chair in region and area are then eligible to audition for a chair in the All State Band.
