Board Notes A Summary of the July 30, 2009, Tyler ISD Board of Trustees Meeting
Board Approves PPO Network for Tyler ISD Health Plan The Board of Trustees approved to change to HealthFirst TPA as the TISD Medical Benefit Plan’s Third Party Administrator and also approve a continuation with Access Direct Platinum as the Preferred Provider Organization, both for a three year period, effective October 1, 2009. The Tyler ISD Medical Benefit Plan has used Assured Benefits Administrators (ABA) as its Third Party Administrator (TPA) to process medical claims for the past six years. ETMC has provided the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) Network, Access Direct Platinum for the past 4 years.
Board Approves Agreement for Assessment and Master Planning of District Facilities Board of Trustees approved the agreement with Corgan Associates, Inc. in the amount of $65,000.00 for Assessment and Master Planning of district facilities. Funding will be provided from the Bond funds. As part of the district’s ongoing assessment of facilities needs and conditions, the Administration is requesting the services of Corgan Associates, Inc. be retained. The architects would provide a district-wide assessment of facilities, administration master planning, as well as organizational and departmental assessment services.
Tyler ISD Construction Project Manager, Monte Robinette, provided the Board of Trustees an update on the progress of the school construction projects.
Orr Elementary School All building slabs are complete; structural steel erection started and the installation of decking on second floor is underway Clarkston Elementary School Roofing installation has started; brick work has started in court yard area. Ductwork and all above ceiling work is underway; framing for interior and exterior walls is started; structural steel erection is nearing completion with only the gym, and one other area remaining. Woods Elementary School Structural steel erection started on June 22, 2009; final building slab pour is scheduled for the week of July 27, 2009. Foundations and underground electrical and plumbing are complete in all areas. Jones/Boshears School Building slabs for several areas are complete. The parking lot for the administrative area has been poured; the second floor slab pour on Jones is scheduled for week of July 27, 2009. Steel erection for two areas is complete and erection for another area has started. The metal building for the arena has been delivered to site, with the erection to start next week.
